Hi, I’m Greta, the face behind Mittens Mobile Cat Grooming. As a qualified cat groomer with an IPET Level 3 Diploma in Cat Grooming and Salon Management, along with a Feline Health, Wellbeing, and First Aid Certificate, I’m passionate about providing a stress-free, gentle grooming experience for every cat I work with.
I know that grooming can be an unusual or even stressful experience for some cats, especially if they’ve had a bad experience in the past. That’s why I work one-on-one, in the familiar surroundings of your home, using natural products and the right tools for each coat type. My approach is always patient, never rushed, and tailored to your cat’s personality, health, and comfort level.
When booking a session, you’ll fill out a form with details about your cat’s breed, age, temperament, health conditions, and grooming history. This helps me prepare for the session and ensure the best possible care. Before we begin, I may also ask additional questions to make sure your cat is comfortable and at ease.
Based in East London and Essex, I bring professional grooming to your door—so your cat can stay relaxed, and you can be involved in the process.
Lion Clip service is a practical solution for cats in need of a full-body clip, leaving fur only on the head/mane, legs, and tail. This service requires at least 2 hours and is not a fashion statement but a necessity for specific situations. It is suitable for cats with heavily matted or pelted coats that cannot be saved and those who suffer from hairballs or respiratory issues.
Before booking this service, please ensure you read Matted Coat disclaimer. My priority is your cat’s comfort and well-being, ensuring they receive the care they need in a gentle and professional manner.
Kitten Introduction to Grooming service is designed for kittens under 6 months old with no mats or knots, providing a gentle and relaxed introduction to their grooming routine. This 45-minute to 1-hour session includes brushing and combing, face and ear cleaning, and a refreshing dry foam shampoo with conditioner. Optional claw clipping is also available to complete their pampering experience.
This service helps your kitten become comfortable with grooming tools and processes, setting the foundation for a lifetime of stress-free grooming sessions. Perfect for keeping your little one happy, clean, and looking their best!

Felix
Felix isn’t the friendliest cat, but Greta managed to groom him without any drama. Super professional and friendly service. Wouldn’t go anywhere else now!
Misty
Misty is a Persian and gets knots so easily. Greta did an amazing job detangling her without hurting her. She looks like a show cat now!
Tigger
Tigger can be a nightmare when it comes to grooming, but Greta handled him so well. He actually seemed to enjoy the process (which NEVER happens). Definitely booking again!
Bella
Bella sheds a lot, and I was struggling to keep up. After her session with Greta, her fur is silky smooth, and the shedding is noticeably less. Plus, she smells amazing!
Luna
I was nervous about getting Luna groomed since she can be quite fussy, but Greta was fantastic! She was so patient and gentle, and Luna actually seemed relaxed.

Grooming
Health/behaviour
– Your cat’s health and well-being are our priority.
– Grooming in cats can cause stress to the kidneys, heart and other organs, which can result in death. This is rare but you are informed that there is a risk. The Groomer will stop the groom if the cat starts showing signs of distress and aggression, and any personal expression of how you wanted your pet to be groomed will no longer be considered. The Groomer will only do what is best for your cat.

– We reserve the right to refuse to work with your cat if grooming might harm or worsen any existing condition.
– You agree that we will not be held responsible for any pre-existing conditions found during the grooming.
– We will advise you to seek appropriate treatment from your veterinarian if a medical problem uncovered during grooming needs urgent attention.
– You are responsible for all medical expenses.
– You agree to inform us of your cat’s behaviour issues.
– You must inform us if your cat has ever bitten or shown aggression towards visitors, family members, or you. This is for your cat’s and our safety.
– If your cat becomes aggressive during the grooming session, with your agreement, we might use a soft cone on its head to ensure we can finish the groom with the least damage to your cat and us.
– We might ask you to assist us in speaking softly to your cat, feeding them treats, or just reassuring your pet with your presence.
– Sometimes, the groom might need to be split into two sessions. This will be done to keep your cat’s stress levels down. If appropriate, we will schedule a follow-up appointment at a later date to finish the groom. The full groom price still applies, and you agree to pay the travel cost for the follow-up appointment.
– In extreme cases, you might be advised to get your cat groomed by a vet under sedation.
– You agree that we will not be liable for any after-grooming effects or ill health. This includes, but is not limited to, the risks outlined in the Matted coat disclaimer.

Matted Coat Disclaimer
All cats can develop mats. Matting and, even worse, pelting cause discomfort to your pet, pulling on the skin and restricting air circulation. The cat may become aggressive and dislike being stroked or touched. Their behaviour can change because of the constant pain they are experiencing.
Skin conditions are not visible due to a matted coat, which, after clipping, can appear as irritation, redness or soreness.
Cats’ skin is very thin and great care is taken when shaving out mats. However, there is a risk of nicks and cuts, patchiness and hair loss, uncovering existing skin conditions. You agree to the risk involved during this procedure.
Mittens Grooming will not be liable for uncovering any preexisting conditions caused by a matted /pelted coat and any subsequent medical treatment that may be required because of coat removal.
Clipping a cat’s coats can result in hair regrowth failure and changes in colour and texture. It can take up to 6 months or more for a full regrowth.
Please be aware that this procedure will drastically change your cats appearance and sometimes it affects their behaviour as well as behaviour of other pets in the house towards them.
Your cat will need extra protection in the cold winter months and in the hot summer months, especially if it is an outdoor cat.
Consent to remove the matted coat on understanding the above problems can happen.
Repeated matting and pelting of the coat cause unnecessary stress and ill health to your cat.
Prevention is the best way forward, so we will recommend a regular grooming schedule and advise on home grooming techniques to keep your cat knot and matt-free.
